My name is Dawn Docktor Jonas, and I'm passionate about the art of Collage. Collage art uses diverse imagery and elements that an artist assembles to form one coherent work of art. Components that makeup a collage piece includes magazine pictures, photographs, personal items, found objects and text. My enthusiasm for this unique art form stems the creative process of making the collage itself. My ultimate goal is to express all facets of the subjects I depict.
The Diverse Use of Collage
Like the art form itself, collage is multi-faceted and multi-functional. It can be part of an individual's art collection or commissioned for gift giving. It can honor an individual for achieving a special milestone or pay tribute to the good works of an organization. My collage pieces can be developed to stand in the lobby of a commercial building or be used as sign-in board for an event. They are also wonderful vehicles in advertising and business promotions. Because the options are endless, I use my creativity to develop a timeless work of art based upon the needs and desires of my clients.
A Special Gift
Most commonly, the collages I produce is expressed to memorialize a time or space in the lives of people. There is no better way to express your love and respect to the individuals in your life than by giving them a personalized collage that I develop with your input. The fun thing is it's seen by everyone. This could be your child's very first piece of artwork and it's all about them and the things they love! I get my motivation from you, about the essence of who you are or your kids, spouse, parents etc.

How to Order a Collage by Dawn
We discuss your goals and you choose from a list of items that I provide to represent persons or concepts of the collage. I take the information submitted from your list to form the images and text then combine it with just the right language to incorporate the essence of who they are, what makes them so special to achieve the results of a stunning piece of art!
How the Collage will Appear
The images are positioned on the canvas to express the theme identified. I use canvas that has a minimum 1 inch thick built in frame. Textured paint is applied to make a bordered appearance so it is not necessary to have it framed. I seal the collage with a high gloss finish. The finished product can be customized to blend with any color scheme or decor to match any room. If you prefer, I can also use a flat canvas with a customized frame.
